BizSensei Food is an online food ordering marketplace built for India. It connects hungry customers with independent restaurants, cafes, cloud kitchens, bakeries, and home food businesses through a single mobile app and website. Customers browse menus, place orders for delivery or takeaway, track their orders in real time, and pay securely, all in one place. Restaurants get a complete digital storefront, order management tools, a kitchen display system, delivery coordination, and customer analytics, without having to build any of it themselves.
The platform was born out of a simple observation. India has lakhs of talented food businesses, from neighbourhood cafes and family-run restaurants to ambitious cloud kitchens, that serve excellent food but struggle with the technology side of online ordering. Large aggregator platforms solve the technology problem but charge commissions that eat deeply into already thin margins, and they control the customer relationship, the data, and the brand experience. BizSensei Food takes a different path. It is built on top of BizSensei OMS, the point of sale and restaurant management software from BizSensei Digital, which means the same system that runs the restaurant's billing counter, kitchen, inventory, and staff also powers its online ordering. There is no duplicate data entry, no separate menu to maintain, and no disconnected systems. When a restaurant updates a price or marks an item out of stock on its POS, the change reflects on the marketplace instantly.
For customers, BizSensei Food is designed to feel like the food apps they already know and love, simple, fast, and visual, while quietly doing more behind the scenes. The app opens with a friendly welcome, lets you pick your language from thirteen Indian languages, finds restaurants near you automatically, and shows real distances so you always know how far your food is travelling. You can save multiple addresses, order for someone else by entering their name and phone number, share a tracking link so they can follow the order without an account, and chat with Sensei, our built in assistant, whenever you need help with an order, a refund question, or a policy.
Importantly, BizSensei Food is a technology platform. We build and operate the software, but we do not cook food and we do not employ delivery riders. Each restaurant is an independent business responsible for its menu, its prices, the food it prepares, and the experience it delivers. Delivery partners are independent providers or restaurant staff. This separation is stated clearly in our Terms of Service, because we believe honesty about who does what is the foundation of trust. Our job is to make the technology invisible and reliable, so the restaurant can focus on food and you can focus on eating.
BizSensei Food is part of a larger ecosystem. It shares its technology core with BizSensei OMS, the restaurant management suite used by cafes and restaurants for billing, table management, kitchen operations, inventory, staff, and reporting. A restaurant that joins BizSensei Food gets the marketplace storefront plus the full OMS toolkit, and a restaurant already on OMS can switch on its marketplace listing in minutes. This integrated approach is what lets us keep costs low for restaurants and pass the benefit to customers through fair prices.
Our mission is to give every Indian food business, no matter how small, the same digital power that the largest chains enjoy, while giving customers a fair, transparent, and joyful way to order food. We measure ourselves against three questions. First, does the restaurant keep more of what it earns. Second, does the customer know exactly what they are paying for and where their order stands. Third, does the technology get out of the way so food remains the hero. If the answer to all three is yes, we are doing our job.
Concretely, this means building software that a single person running a small cafe can set up in an afternoon, with no technical knowledge and no upfront investment in hardware beyond the phone or computer they already own. It means commissions and fees that are published openly and stay low enough that restaurants can price their food fairly instead of inflating prices to cover platform costs. It means customer features that solve real Indian problems: ordering in your own language, ordering for family members, tracking an order shared over WhatsApp, and getting help from a support assistant that actually understands the question.
Our vision is a food economy where technology is a utility, not a landlord. In the current model, whoever owns the ordering platform owns the customer, and restaurants pay rent forever for access to their own regulars. We want to flip that. Restaurants should own their customer relationships, their menus, their data, and their brand, and technology should be the quiet infrastructure that makes it all work, like electricity or roads.
We see a future where a home baker in Nagpur, a momo stall in Shillong, and a fine dining restaurant in Bengaluru all run on the same dependable rails, each keeping control of their business, each reaching customers directly. We see customers ordering in Assamese, Malayalam, or Urdu with the same ease as English, because language should never be a barrier to a good meal. We see delivery partners treated as respected professionals with clear earnings, safety tools, and dignity. This vision guides every product decision we make, from the thirteen languages in the app to the delivery radius controls that let a restaurant serve only the neighbourhoods it can serve well.
Five values shape how we build. Fairness: transparent pricing, honest policies, and no hidden charges, for customers and restaurants alike. Simplicity: if a feature needs a manual, it is not finished. Reliability: the app must work during the dinner rush, on a low end phone, on a patchy network. Respect for data: your information is yours, we are only custodians, as our Privacy Policy describes in detail. Accountability: when something goes wrong, we say so, we fix it, and we tell you what changed. These are not slogans on a wall. They are the checklist we run before every release.
Using BizSensei Food takes less than a minute to set up. When you open the app for the first time, you meet Sensei, our friendly assistant, on a welcome screen. You choose your preferred language from thirteen Indian languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, and Assamese. English is the default, and you can change the language any time from settings. Next, you log in. We use a simple one time password sent to your email, so there are no passwords to remember and no lengthy forms. If you are new, we ask for your name, phone number, and delivery address once, and you are done. Returning customers go straight to the home screen.
After login, the app asks for your location so it can show restaurants that can actually serve you. This is a deliberate design choice. Instead of showing every restaurant in the city and disappointing you at checkout, BizSensei Food only lists restaurants whose delivery area covers your location, plus restaurants within 30 kilometres for takeaway. Each restaurant card shows its distance from you, sorted nearest first, so you always know how far your food is travelling. You can search by restaurant name or dish, filter the list, and tap any restaurant to see its full menu with photos, descriptions, prices, and ratings.
Because menus come straight from each restaurant's own point of sale system, what you see is what the kitchen sees. If an item sells out, it disappears from the menu automatically. Prices include applicable taxes as configured by the restaurant, so there are no surprises at the bill stage.
Adding items to your cart works the way you expect: tap to add, adjust quantities, see a running total. At checkout you choose delivery or takeaway, confirm or edit your address using our map based address picker, and place the order. Cash on delivery and other payment modes are supported as configured by each restaurant. Before you confirm, you tick a checkbox agreeing to our Terms of Service, and we store a timestamped record of that consent, because informed agreement matters to us.
Ordering for someone else is a first class feature, not an afterthought. Tap "Ordering for someone else" at checkout, enter the receiver's name and phone number, and the order updates go to them by SMS. After the order is placed, you get a shareable tracking link. Send it to the receiver over any messaging app, and they can follow the order live without creating an account. This is perfect for sending food to parents, hosting guests, or ordering lunch for the office.
Every order gets a unique verification token, a short code that the restaurant, the kitchen display, the rider, and you can all see. It is used to verify handoffs, so your food reaches the right hands. You can track preparation and delivery status in real time from the orders screen or the tracking page. If anything goes wrong, Sensei, the in app assistant, can answer questions about refunds, cancellations, delivery, and policies instantly, and our human support team is reachable at the contact details in Section 11. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy and Delivery Policy spell out exactly what happens in every scenario, in plain language.
Restaurants join BizSensei Food for one reason above all: it is built on the same system they use to run their business. BizSensei OMS handles billing, tables, kitchen display, inventory, staff shifts, and reports. The marketplace is a natural extension of that system, not a separate product bolted on. A restaurant's menu, prices, taxes, and item availability live in one place. Update the price of a biryani on the POS and it updates on the marketplace instantly. Mark an item out of stock during the lunch rush and it disappears from the app before a customer can order it. This single source of truth eliminates the most common causes of online ordering failures: wrong prices, unavailable items, and orders the kitchen never expected.
Beyond the menu sync, restaurants get a full online ordering toolkit. They can accept delivery and takeaway orders, set their own delivery radius down to half a kilometre, define delivery charges and free delivery thresholds, manage their own delivery staff or accept orders from general marketplace riders, print kitchen order tickets, and see every online order flow into the same dashboard as their walk in and table orders. Reports combine all channels, so the owner sees the true picture of the business at the end of the day.
Joining is straightforward. A restaurant registers through the BizSensei portal, completes its profile with business details, FSSAI licence, GST information, and bank details for settlements, uploads its menu with photos and prices, sets its location on the map, configures its delivery radius and charges, and goes live. Our team reviews each listing before it appears to customers, checking that the business details are genuine, the menu is complete, and the location is accurate. This review protects customers from fake listings and protects genuine restaurants from being lost in a sea of unverified entries.
There is no expensive hardware to buy. The entire system runs in a browser or on an Android device the restaurant already owns. The kitchen display system works on any tablet or screen. The rider app works on any Android phone. For restaurants that already use BizSensei OMS for their counter billing, switching on the marketplace is a matter of minutes.
We believe platform fees should be published, predictable, and fair. Restaurants on BizSensei Food operate under subscription plans, Basic, Standard, and Premium, with monthly pricing published on our pricing page, rather than per order commissions that scale painfully as the business grows. Plan features, limits, and prices are shown before signup and in the team dashboard, and any change to pricing is communicated in advance. There are no hidden charges, no preferential placement sold to the highest bidder, and no penalties for success. A restaurant that grows its online orders keeps the upside.
Payment settlements follow a clear schedule documented in the restaurant agreement. Order payments collected through the platform, where online payment is enabled, are settled to the restaurant's registered bank account after deducting only the published plan fee and applicable payment gateway charges. Cash on delivery orders are settled directly between the customer and the restaurant or rider, and the platform records them for reporting.
With control comes responsibility, and we are explicit about it. Each restaurant is solely responsible for the food it prepares, including taste, quality, freshness, hygiene, and accurate allergen information. Each restaurant is responsible for accepting orders promptly, preparing them within the stated time, packing them correctly, and handing them to the delivery partner or customer. Restaurants must hold a valid FSSAI licence, comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, maintain the hygiene standards their licence requires, and keep their menu, prices, and availability accurate. Our Terms of Service set this out in detail, including the clear statement that BizSensei is a technology platform and does not cook, pack, or deliver food. Restaurants that repeatedly fail on quality, timeliness, or honesty can have their listings suspended, because one bad experience hurts every restaurant on the platform.
Every restaurant partner gets the full BizSensei OMS suite. The point of sale handles billing with split bills, discounts, taxes, and multiple payment modes. The kitchen display system shows live orders to the kitchen staff with preparation timers. Inventory tracks ingredients and alerts on low stock. Staff management handles roles, permissions, shifts, and attendance. The team dashboard shows sales, orders, and customer analytics. For online ordering specifically, restaurants get order notifications, acceptance controls, preparation time settings, delivery radius configuration, rider assignment, customer communication tools, ratings and reviews management, and promotional tools such as coupons and offers. It is an end to end system, designed so that a restaurant can run its entire operation, online and offline, from one login.
Delivery partners are the people who carry food from the restaurant to the customer. On BizSensei Food they come in two forms. Restaurant specific riders work for a single restaurant, handling its deliveries as part of the restaurant's own team. General marketplace riders serve across restaurants, accepting delivery tasks from any restaurant that needs them. Both use the BizSensei Rider app, an Android application that shows assigned deliveries, customer addresses with map pins, navigation, tap to call, and delivery verification.
We designed the rider experience with dignity and practicality in mind. The app shows the full delivery address, the customer or receiver name, a tap to call button, the exact map pin, and a navigate button that opens directions. Each delivery carries a verification token that the rider confirms with the customer, protecting both sides against wrong deliveries and false claims. Riders see their delivery history and earnings information in the app.
Riders are onboarded by restaurants or by the BizSensei team, depending on whether they are restaurant specific or general marketplace riders. Onboarding includes identity verification, a valid driving licence check where applicable, a briefing on food handling hygiene, and training on the rider app. Restaurant specific riders are managed by their restaurant, which sets their scope and availability. General riders are managed through the platform and can accept tasks across participating restaurants in their area.
Delivery partners are paid for the work they do, and the terms are stated upfront before they accept a delivery. We do not use opaque algorithms that hide how a payout is calculated. Distance, time, and any surge or incentive components are shown transparently. Restaurants set the delivery terms for their own riders, and the platform's terms for general riders are published and consistent. Tips, where the feature is enabled, go to the rider in full.
Rider safety is non negotiable. The rider app includes an SOS style emergency contact feature, shares trip information for active deliveries, and is designed to minimise phone interaction while riding, with large touch targets and voice friendly flows where possible. We encourage restaurants to set realistic preparation and delivery time expectations so riders are never pressured to ride unsafely to meet an impossible deadline. Delivery partners are covered by the insurance arrangements documented in their onboarding, and any incident during an active delivery can be reported through the app and to our support team immediately.
Delivery partners are responsible for picking up orders promptly, handling food carefully, following the assigned route, verifying delivery with the token, and behaving professionally with customers and restaurant staff. As independent providers or restaurant staff, their conduct during deliveries is their own responsibility and, where applicable, their restaurant's. Our Terms of Service and Delivery Policy describe the delivery relationship in full.
BizSensei Food is built as a modern web platform with a mobile first design. The customer app, the restaurant dashboard, the kitchen display, the rider app, and the team administration all run on a shared core: one database, one menu, one order pipeline. This is what makes real time sync possible. When the kitchen marks an order as ready, the customer sees it instantly. When a restaurant runs out of an item, it vanishes from every customer's menu at once. The Android apps are lightweight wrappers around the web platform, which means improvements ship to every user without app store updates or downloads.
Food ordering has brutal peak loads. Friday night at eight, the entire city orders at once. Our infrastructure is built for that reality, with database backed sessions, efficient queries, caching where it matters, and graceful degradation when networks are slow. The apps are designed to work on low end Android phones and patchy mobile networks, because that is the reality for much of India. Pages are kept light, images are optimised, and critical flows like checkout are engineered to complete even on slow connections.
Security is a standing company commitment, not a feature. All traffic to the platform uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Passwords are stored using strong one way hashing, never in readable form. Payment data is processed through certified payment gateways and we never store card numbers on our servers. Sessions are managed securely, administrative actions require authentication with role based permissions, and sensitive operations such as configuration changes require explicit confirmation. We run regular reviews of our code and dependencies, and we fix reported vulnerabilities promptly. Our Privacy Policy describes how we protect your personal data in detail.
Technology should speak your language, literally. BizSensei Food supports thirteen Indian languages across the customer app interface, and restaurant menus can be translated on the fly so you can read a menu in the language you are comfortable with. We follow accessibility practices such as sufficient colour contrast, readable type sizes, touch targets sized for fingers, and screen reader friendly markup, because good food should be orderable by everyone.
Sensei is the built in assistant that lives in the BizSensei Food app. It answers questions about orders, refunds, cancellations, delivery, payments, and platform policies, drawing on our published help and legal content. It can guide you to the right policy page, help you check an order's status, and connect you to human support when needed. Sensei is a rule based assistant trained on our own documentation, which means its answers are consistent with our published policies. It does not pretend to be human, and it never makes up policy. If it cannot answer, it says so and points you to a person who can.
BizSensei Food grows city by city, neighbourhood by neighbourhood, and we would rather serve a small area well than a large area badly. A restaurant appears in your list only if it can genuinely serve your location: either your address falls within the restaurant's configured delivery radius, or the restaurant is within 30 kilometres for takeaway orders. This location aware listing is deliberate. It prevents the all too common experience of browsing a beautiful menu, placing an order, and learning at checkout that nobody will deliver it to you.
Restaurants set their own delivery radius based on what they can serve fresh and on time, typically a few kilometres around their kitchen. Takeaway extends the reach to 30 kilometres for customers willing to collect. As more restaurants join in an area, coverage deepens naturally. If your area has few listings today, it simply means we have not onboarded restaurants near you yet, and the list will grow as we do.
We are actively onboarding restaurants across India, with a focus on cities and towns where independent food businesses are strong and underserved by existing platforms. Restaurants interested in joining can contact us through the details in Section 11. Customers can suggest their favourite local restaurants through the app, and our onboarding team follows up on every genuine suggestion.
Quality on BizSensei Food has two owners. The restaurant owns the food: its taste, freshness, hygiene, packaging, and accuracy. We own the platform: its reliability, transparency, and fairness. We never blur this line, because pretending to control what we cannot control would be dishonest. Our Terms of Service state it plainly: BizSensei is a technology platform, and responsibility for food and delivery rests with the restaurant and the delivery partner.
What we do control, we take seriously. Menus must be accurate, prices must be honest, delivery radii must be realistic, order statuses must reflect reality, and refunds must follow our published Refund and Cancellation Policy without argument. When our systems fail, we say so and fix them.
Every restaurant is reviewed before listing. We verify business details, FSSAI licence, and menu completeness. Customer ratings and reviews are visible on every restaurant, and they matter: consistently low rated restaurants receive warnings, support to improve, and ultimately suspension if standards do not recover. We monitor order level signals such as cancellation rates, preparation time accuracy, and complaint frequency, and our team follows up on patterns, not just individual incidents.
Customers play a vital role in this system. Rating your order honestly, reporting wrong items, and telling us when something was excellent all feed the quality loop. Reviews must be genuine and based on real orders, and we remove fake or manipulated reviews when we find them.
Food safety is governed by the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and enforced by FSSAI. Every restaurant on the platform must hold a valid FSSAI licence or registration and comply with the hygiene and safety standards it requires. Restaurants are responsible for allergen information, ingredient accuracy, and safe food handling from kitchen to handoff. If you have a food allergy, please check with the restaurant directly about ingredients and preparation, and read our Terms of Service section on food quality, allergies, and safety before ordering. If you ever receive food that appears unsafe, do not consume it, report it to us immediately, and seek medical attention if needed.
Most questions have instant answers. Sensei, the assistant inside the app, can help with order tracking, refund timelines, cancellation rules, delivery issues, payment questions, and account help, any time of day. It is trained on our published policies, so its answers match what our human team would tell you. Start with Sensei; it resolves most queries in seconds.
When you need a person, we are reachable by email and phone at the contact details in Section 11. Our support team handles order disputes, refund escalations, account issues, and feedback. We aim to respond to queries within two business days. For grievances that fall under consumer protection or intermediary regulations, our Grievance Officer follows the timelines required by law: acknowledgement within 48 hours and resolution within 30 days, as described in our Terms of Service.
Every complaint is logged, categorised, and tracked to resolution. Order related complaints follow our Refund and Cancellation Policy, so you know in advance what outcome to expect. Delivery complaints follow our Delivery Policy. If a complaint reveals a restaurant or rider problem, we act on the pattern: coaching first, warnings next, and suspension for repeated or serious failures. If a complaint reveals a platform bug, our engineering team fixes it and we tell affected customers what changed. We publish no vanity metrics about support; we measure ourselves on resolution time and on whether the same complaint comes back.
BizSensei Food is built and operated by BizSensei Digital, a hybrid growth agency and software studio. The company works in two worlds that strengthen each other. As a performance marketing and web development agency, it helps brands grow through advertising, search optimisation, content, and retention marketing. As a software studio, it builds products, with BizSensei OMS, the restaurant management suite, as its flagship. BizSensei Food is where those two worlds meet: deep restaurant operations software combined with consumer grade product and marketing craft.
The company was founded on a simple frustration with how small businesses are served by technology: overcharged, underserved, and locked in. Every BizSensei product is an answer to that frustration. BizSensei OMS gives restaurants enterprise grade point of sale, kitchen display, inventory, and analytics at a price a small cafe can afford. The WordPress plugin ecosystem extends the platform to restaurants with existing websites. The custom CMS powers the agency's own web presence and client work. BizSensei Food brings it all to the customer side, completing the loop from kitchen to doorstep.
BizSensei Digital operates as a distributed team, with no single fixed office location. The company is run by its founder, Nazish Ruhan, alongside a remote team that handles product, engineering, design, and client work. What the company lacks in office space it makes up for in responsiveness: product decisions are made quickly, customer feedback reaches engineering directly, and releases ship frequently.
The company's public home is bizsensei.co.in, where you can learn about its services, products, and work. BizSensei Food itself lives at oms.bizsensei.co.in and in the BizSensei Food Android app. Both are built in house, on technology the team operates itself, which is why we can promise the reliability and data practices described on this page: there is no third party platform in between us and you.
We are easy to reach, and we read everything we receive. For customer support, restaurant partnerships, delivery partner queries, press, or anything else, use the channels below.
Support hours and response targets are published in our Terms of Service. For order specific help, contacting us from within the app with your order open gets you the fastest resolution, because we can see exactly what you see.
BizSensei Food is operated by BizSensei Digital as an intermediary technology platform under the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021. As an intermediary, we provide the platform that connects customers, restaurants, and delivery partners, and we follow the due diligence and grievance redressal obligations those rules prescribe, including the appointment of a Grievance Officer and the publication of our policies.
As an e commerce marketplace, we comply with the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E commerce) Rules, 2020. This includes clear disclosure of seller information on restaurant listings, transparent pricing with taxes and charges shown before you pay, a published Refund and Cancellation Policy, a published Delivery Policy, and access to grievance redressal. Nothing on this page or elsewhere limits your statutory rights as a consumer, including your right to approach the appropriate Consumer Commission.
We handle your personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, who we share it with, and what rights you have, including the right to access, correct, and erase your data. We collect consent explicitly at signup and checkout, store a timestamped record of that consent, and honour withdrawal by deleting your account on request.
Restaurants listed on BizSensei Food must comply with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and hold valid FSSAI licences or registrations. We verify licence details during restaurant onboarding and require restaurants to maintain the hygiene standards their licence demands. Food businesses remain solely responsible for the safety of the food they prepare and serve, as our Terms of Service make clear.
Restaurants are responsible for their own tax compliance, including GST registration, invoicing, and filings, and for configuring correct tax rates in the platform. BizSensei issues invoices for its own subscription and platform fees. Tax related disclosures on customer bills reflect the configuration provided by each restaurant.
BizSensei Food, the BizSensei name, the Sensei character, and all platform software, designs, and content are the intellectual property of BizSensei Digital or its licensors. Restaurant menus, photos, and brand assets remain the property of the respective restaurants. Our Terms of Service set out the licence you grant us to operate the service and the restrictions on copying platform content.
We update this page as BizSensei Food grows: new features, new cities, new policies. The "Last updated" date at the top tells you when it last changed. Material changes to how the platform works are also announced in the app. Your continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms and policies they reference.
